Medicana Inc. has over 52 years' experience in the critical care field, established in Montreal, Quebec in 1963. The Company's focus ranges from entire turn-key construction solutions utilizing prefabricated modular systems for operating rooms and critical care areas to the design, sale and installation of the capital equipment required to complete the project.

The main product lines include FlexeSpace Prefabricated Modular Systems, FlexePort Ceiling-Suspended Articulating Arms with Equipment Service Managers, FlexeLux LED and Halogen Surgical Lighting Systems, and Medicana's SmokEVAC our Centralized Smoke Evacuation System. Medicana is also distributing specialized OR tables from Schaerer Medical (Switzerland) and radio-translucent imaging tables from Stille (Sweden).

Innovative design was identified early on as a key to Medicana's leadership in the industry. In all cases, the Company has distinguished itself in its ability to capture the essence of the facility's need to adapt to new challenges in the delivery of health care.

In Canada, Medicana has a vast experience designing rooms of various vocations: OR's, ICU's, Image Guided Therapy rooms, Cardiac Catheterization Labs, Trauma Units etc... Our references include several projects at UHN over the past 10 years, valued at nearly $10 million. Moreover, we have successfully completed OR's in Ontario at Toronto General Hospital, TGH MPOR, The Hospital for Sick Children, Sudbury Regional Hospital, TEGH, and North Bay Regional in Alberta at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton, and Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre, Lethbridge; and many more throughout the country. Other achievements in Canada include state-of-the- art ICU's at the CHUM Montreal, The Ottawa Hospital Civic and General Campus 65 ICU beds, Toronto Western ICU 38 beds, North Bay 16 Adult + 7 Neonatal beds and the Grand River Hospital ICU 20 Beds.
